For the past few years, I've been
experimenting with collage, printing and creating my own papers. The resulting
works have an embroidered, tapestry-like texture and appearance. In these new
pieces, the canvas becomes a plane of "windows" inviting the viewer into facets
of the subject, the nuances of its colors, textures ... even its fragrance. In
addition, this mixed media method is opening new doors for expressing spiritual
and inspirational themes. In Tibetan Prayers, for example, I have used
Tibetan prayer flags that have hung for years in our gum tree. The wind, sun and
rain have contributed something very special to the final work.
